- -Hey, is that word pronounced Polish or polish? Shorts!

What's the Difference between Polish and polish

Obviously, the first consideration is the context in which the words are used. For instance, is it nail Polish? Or, polish sausage? You see...choosing the correct pronunciation is simple.

But, writing the words in proper context might present/present more of a challenge. So/sew, here's your grammatical guideline. One/won of the words is a Proper noun and the other may be a noun or an action verb.

So, Polish, capitalized refers to a nationality. And is thereby capitalized.

While nail polish, is a noun, you remember: a person, place or thing.

And to polish, is an action verb!

Any fun observations of your own?

Poetic Expression: Are we all Poets?

                                What exactly is...

                            Poetic Expression?

...The most common poetic prose we use daily, Metaphors and Similes, is best demonstrated by Songbird, Madonna, when she uses the Metaphor, "Like a Virgin, being touched for the very first time..."

Can you give examples of any of your favorite Metaphors or Similes?

- -Is Effeminate a "Bad Word"in Shorts?

Grammar's
Effeminate vs. Feminine
Can I be both? If in grammar, both adjectives mean "Womanly," so why not. As I'm definitely a girly-girl...

....But, social bias says, well, yes and no.
Because although a woman can be effeminate without negativity, societal rules dictate negativity for the same adjective in reference to men. As a man having characteristics and ways of behaving that are traditionally associated with women are regarded as inappropriate!

 So, What's your take?

Taking a grammatic license with Phil/Feel in my Shorts!

                                                     Is Phil/Feel a thing?

Hmm...Raving about the Massage chair at my gym this week, that I nicknamed Phil, pronounced "Feel" Did you understand this reference to the massager?

Does it go without saying that the nickname, Phil, uh 'Feel" stems from the penetrating vibrations of the Massage Chair, and thus, it's the way it makes me, "Feel."

Did I succeed in making you laugh with this Phil/Feel play on grammar?

How "You," like a news reporter, can Write Consistently, in Short

                       How do you Write Consistently

...like a reporter under deadline, on a daily basis?

Start by collecting Writer's Tools. These Tools, the essence of my forthcoming, 3 volume, beginning writer's series, will guide you seamlessly in your quest to get and keep your writing project progressing.

What are they? Your first thought might be a fancy computer. But it's not. Instead, check the Dollar Store for mini notebooks that come 3 to a pack. Next, you need pins and pencils in multiple packs.

                                                    Why?

Because when a news reporter goes on location to cover a story, they return to their computers with notes, videos and or pictures to guide the forthcoming story they are preparing to write.

So, like a Professional, with your primary Writer's Tools, you'll begin to collect notes, video and or pictures to guide your writing!

Because those notebooks and pens are stashed everywhere you linger. Ah...including around the aw.. Throne/Thrown. So whenever an idea or inspiration presents itself, you can quickly jot it down in the notebooks. Then tear the pages out and place them in a manila folder, labeled with your projects title or the chapter title, beside your computer. So you'll know exactly what you're writing on any given day!

Let me know if organizing your Writer's Tools actually helps to guide your focus when you sit at your computer to actually Write!

- -Fox TV Pays me to Tease! Come into my Shorts!- -Writer Hagin KIng"Duchess"

                                    TEASE:

to Provoke a Person or animal in a Playful way--

hmmm....Fox TV Affiliate Channel 12 in Palm Beach paid me to TEASE: write Headlines and Copy aimed to lure viewers to the Evening News!

Officially titled an Associate News Producer for the broadcast, part of my reporting duties centered on getting viewers eyeballs on the Station's newscast.

That included carefully constructed, timed video packages: a standup open, a middle and an end lasting 15 to 30 seconds. And the evening news that's written by me, that's read by the higher-ups. And the higher-paids!

Come into my Shorts: Lust or Love Semantics

Is it Ture Love or Lust? Synonyms or Semantics?

Synonyms: words or expressions in the same language that have the exact same meaning, or very similar meaning.

Semantics: the meaning of words, phrases, sentences or text. Aspect of meaning and word relations.

Hmmm, so, how closely do 'you think' Love and Lust are related?

Although the formal definition of LUST: a state of overwhelming sexual or physical attraction for another person.

And, LOVE: an intense feeling of deep affection. A deep emotional connection. That may  lead to a desire to make a relationship last- -

* * *My Query centers committed Romantic Relations....

Because, if half of all marriages still dissolve due to causes like Infidelity or related issues like Jealousy or Money; if one professes True Love, but is Lust-driven into bed with you and others, during a committed relationship, is it LOVE or LUST from the onset?

* * *What do you think? Is it LUST or LOVE? And are these two concepts mutually contingent?

What's that Psychological 'Pic-in-a-Pic trick?

If you see this...in this image, it means...

- - you know, those photographs, that have a Picture inside a Picture.

...An image inside an image; challenging us to decipher what projection we see, usually to get us to click on a website...

                                                     uh..

                                             Click Bait...

....to determine some aspect of our personality...
those images are
Anamorph:

Anamorphosis is a distorted projection, requiring the viewer, uh, us...
to occupy a specific vantage point

so...it's an 'Intentional Distortion of an Image!'

and no...my above image is Not Anamorph
- -it's simply my amateur editing, of a brand video from my YouTube Vault!

'Author Stephen King's row with 'Acronyms and 'Writer Hagin King's 'Short rebuttal!

- -Author Stephen King, who shares my birthday, September 21!; my uh..sir name...King, and my 'Vocation...

...Reportedly, is unfavorable to 'Acronyms...

...you know; the abbreviation from the 'initials of other words, and may be pronounced as a word, like, NASA: National Aeronautics and Space Administration!

So...Hagin-Duchess, why do you so strongly champion the Acronym! you ask- -

It's namely a Mnemonic Acronym that's a driving force in my life, and the lives of so many others!

As the mnemonic acronym, SMART, has surly guided me, and legions, in setting life altering 'Objectives. Further, my ability to 'Set Goals has greatly benefited from this mnemonic acronym's intrinsic delivery: Specific-Measurable-Achievable-Realistic-Timely!

And, I invite All, to leave a comment, sharing your encounters with Acronyms! And you're All welcomed to choose a side; it's either me, the biographer, Ms. King, or, the rich and famous author, Mr. King!

-Believe half of what you Hear! Here! ...with Writer Hagin King! #grammarlaughterwithwriterhaginking.blogspot.com

                            What have you Heard? Herd?

As the month of 'March closes, and we 'march to the month's end!

Yes, it's obvious I'm in the mood for homophones: words with the same pronunciation, but with different meanings, origins, or spellings: Heard/Herd! Here/Hear!

And even Homographs; words with the same spelling(March/March) but different meanings.

...but what "other words" are we saying that are of concern to me today...

So...instead of saying words that can Hurt, let's have Fun with Grammar, using all the words under the umbrella of Homonyms, you know: words that sound alike, but have different meanings!

- -Grammar Suffers in Palm Beach with Writer Hagin King

Martha Stewart is my she-ro...

- -One of the many reasons I admire Martha Steward so Profoundly, is because of her seemingly, unshakable Focus!
...So, it's Martha Stewart I tried to emulate, when I'd just wrote and co-produced my first Episode of, "Grammar Laughter!"...a grammar-centric TV short, that I hoped was the beginning of a TV franchise segment, like the Hundreds, Martha Stewart so masterfully, produces.
But...
I was just starting to Start, when...Thud! B-O-O-M!, my life spit apart at the seams...

...and "Grammar Laughter!" becomes a casualty of war, that would be left dormant on the wayside, for another 6-years, while I rebuilt my life, relocating from Palm Beach, where I'd landed my career defining roles as a news reporter, for both TV and print news; hosted business TV and wrote the evening broadcast, as an Associate News Producer, under the umbrella of a Palm Beach, Fox News Affiliate.

...And that Ending, propelled a new beginning, because I was off to Hawaii!
Where, like Martha Stewart,"Grammar Laughter!"would again, rise, with mammoth focus! So Follow along, in the Coming Post, because like anything in life, circumstances are relative, and so is the Paradise Island of Oahu!
